When should juniors start golf fitness training? Around 10 years old is when juniors begin golf fitness training, but can be earlier or later depending on the individual
What is golf fitness? Golf fitness is training specifically for improved performance on the course. This includes fitness education, care for developmental milestones, and special focus on individual speed, agility, and power aspects of golf. Before puberty, the focus is on foundational movements, core stability and preparation for more intense sport performance training. After puberty, the focus shifts to strength and power training as well as mobility and movement work to assure the golfer can achieve all necessary positions of the golf swing.
Do you teach the swing? No, we do not teach the golf swing. We coordinate with swing coaches to make sure golfers are moving efficiently for an effective swing.
What if I don’t live near Raleigh? We have online programs specifically designed to mimic our facility programs. You still will receive a full evaluation and totally customized program from expert coaches based on your time and available equipment. Many players choose to visit us in person every 4-8 weeks to follow up progress programs, utilizing the app between sessions for program delivery and coach communication.
What are my options to work with Par4Success as a Raleigh local? You can join as a member of our junior program with unlimited access to classes and coaches in person. Or, you can do 1 on 1 sessions periodically and follow up via our app for program delivery and feedback from coaches.
Will you talk with my swing coach? Yes, we serve as a liaison between your body and your swing coach. We figure out what your body can and cannot do, finding safe, efficient solutions to present your coach.
Are there any special fitness considerations for girls? Young women are prone to hypermobility (too much flexibility) which can put them at risk for injury much more than their male counterparts. A well rounded strength and conditioning program will help build strength and control mobility, reducing injury risk and improving performance.
What if my junior has scoliosis? Our physical therapists actually specialize in working with golfers with this condition. Through specific and targeted exercises, we may be able to slow curve progressions and help a young golfer avoid surgery.
