Choosing the right Physical Therapist and right therapy practice is no small task and should not be taken lightly. When we typed in “Physical Therapist near me” into Google, we saw over 37 million results!!! It is incredibly overwhelming.
How do you know one from the other?
How do you know if they are any good?
How do you know how much they cost?
How do you know if they have experience with someone like you or with your particular condition/injury?
How do you know how many visits will be required?
How do you know if you will like the practice and how the staff will treat you?
Do the people who work there care more about you getting better or collecting their paycheck?
The list just keeps going…
Our goal for this report is to answer the most important questions that you need to answer for yourself before selecting which therapist you will see.
The last thing we want you to do is call a clinic just because it is close or because they paid to have their clinic pop up on the top of page 1 in a search engine.
We REALLY DON’T want you to just take the first available appointment when you call a clinic with a therapist you know nothing about. This is not what people who take charge of their own life and health do.
This, however, is what the healthcare model wants you to do because it keeps filling their schedules without holding the clinic accountable for its results with you. In our experience of having worked in healthcare for many years, this type of clinic does, however, care VERY MUCH about their productivity results. (aka. How much they bill in a day).
This comes from the top down in these organizations and we can attest, it is a difficult place for therapists to work and for clients to be treated as people, not numbers.
Don’t be a number. Understand your rights as a consumer and know that in most insurance based practices, they are required to see 15 or more patients in a day meaning they have very little 1 on 1 time for you.
Here are some very important insider stats you NEED to know about Insurance based Physical Therapy.
The average patient will get 15 minutes 1 on 1 with their therapist who will be managing at least 1-2 other patients at the same time.
The average cost of an Insurance Physical Therapy session is $250 in North Carolina.
The average number of visits until a person is better is 12-16.
The average visit will consist of at least 30 minutes of exercises being supervised by an aide with little more than a high school diploma and most exercises can be done at home. You also will be 1 of at least 2-3 other patients the aide is watching.
Here are the same stats you NEED to know if you use INSURANCE FREE Physical Therapy.
The average patient will get 60 minutes 1 on 1 with their therapist who will be managing ZERO other patients at the same time.
The average cost of an Insurance Free Physical Therapy session is $130 in North Carolina.
The average number of visits until a person is better is 4 – 6.
The average visit will vary widely based on what the client needs, not what the insurance company will pay for.
There are NO AIDES.
You will never be one of multiple patients at a time nor will you do the same exercises you already do at home and be charged for them.
With just this one hack, you are armed with more knowledge than 95% of people who are in pain and not able to do what they love.
